Ameya Puranik completed his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering in August 2006 at the Padmashree- Dr.-D.Y.Patil-College of Engineering and Technology of the University of Pune, India. In 2007, he continued with his Masters studies at Texas A & M University-Kingsville. In 2008, he received his Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a major in fluid engineering and minor in robot design and stress-strain analysis of materials. Master's projects include mathematical and biodynamic modeling of seated humans exposed to vertical vibrations as in cars and robot programming using V+.
During his studies, he worked as a mechanical engineer at Arun Engineering Works, Pune, India. Responsibilities included supervising workers on the production line, maintaining a connection between design department and the production department, and interaction with customers, vendors, and senior personnel, to achieve enhancement of product quality.
Ameya is currently a Research and Development Engineer at NeuroScript. His work includes testing and improving the MovAlyzeR® software, as well as design and development on a Gripper assembly for the GripAlyzeR™ software.
When asked what he likes most about working at NeuroScript, Ameya stated: "It is amazing to be working in the field of handwriting movement analysis. I am intrigued by the variety of applications related to this field, for example: forensics, kinesiology, and psychiatry. The quotation that ‘learning is an unending curve’ proved to be the case at NeuroScript."
