Glossary Item Box
Stroke description consists of a character pattern to check if a trial is OK. Normal cursive-script writing patterns can formulated by simplified cursive script letters (given in the table).
For example, if a condition consists of a writing pattern "hello", then the stroke description will be 'hello'. If the condition consists of recording a line of 5 cm at an angle of 45 degrees, the stroke description would be '/'.
The following table gives a list of the supported characters for consistency checking:

(*) 1 Stroke for normal analysis; 3 Strokes for submovement analysis. Stroke 1 = Primary Submovement, 2 = Secondary Submovement; 3 = total movement (strokes 1+2).
The number of strokes is the addition of each individual letter's number of strokes. Add one for a final upstroke. These words can be selecting from an ascii list of words using Unix's Grep or Awk with search key (regular expression) "^[acehijlmnotuvy]*$".
(***) The default value for the slant error = 22.5. This value can be increased or decreased. Refer Slant Error.
o Loops can only be detected between the current and the previous stroke. If the previous stroke is segmented AFTER crossing the second stroke, no zero crossing or loop will be detected. A connecting stroke that is horizontal (e.g., oa, oh, oi, ol, oo, ot, va, ve, vi, vo) may be segmented such that the "down" stroke does not cross with the previous "up" stroke.
